The ways I have been empowered as a student are many. However I was empowered the most by a specific professor, Dr. Askew. She always helped everyone in her education classes to reflect in a healthy manner on their teaching and then would ask “what can you change or what can you do about the issues you saw”. Dr.Askew never made it to where any of her students felt dumbfounded on what to do but rather she made all of us feel empowered and encouraged us to be the teachers we needed when we were younger.
Freed-Hardeman has so many unique opportunities in each major to really dive deeper into your passion and find out the drive behind what you want to do in your future career field. The professors in each department are so welcoming and really want you to discover your love for the field, while also incorporating your faith into your future.
